Enclessa Projects is the module that records what an organisation is working on: a project with an owner, a customer, dates, a budget and the people on it, plus milestones, status updates carrying a health word somebody put their name to, and a log of the risks being carried and the decisions taken. It needs no other module — the smallest useful installation is a list of what the organisation is working on and who owns each one — and it lights up further panels when Boards, Time or Customers are installed beside it.

What is on a project?

The things somebody has to answer for, rather than a task list under another name. Who owns it, which customer it is for, what it is meant to cost and by when, who is on it — and then the record that accumulates while it runs: milestones on a timeline across every project, status updates with a health word and a name against it, and the risks and decisions that would otherwise live in somebody’s memory of a meeting.

What happens when Time is installed too?

Each project decides for itself whether it appears in Time at all, which is the setting that stops a project nobody books against from cluttering every timesheet. Switching a project off in Time stops it accepting new hours and loses no hour already booked. Links pasted into a room months ago still resolve after a project is renamed, because they reference the project rather than its name.

What this does not do

  • Projects are off until an operator enables the module for the organisation.
  • There is no dependency graph, no critical path and no resource levelling — a project is a record of what is being done and by whom, not a scheduling engine.
  • The day strip on the week board was planned with the agenda work and was not built.

Projects: common questions

Does Enclessa have project management?

Enclessa has a Projects module: a record per project with an owner, a customer, dates, a budget, milestones, status updates, risks and decisions, linked to the boards and rooms the work happens in. It is not a scheduling tool — there is no dependency graph, critical path or resource levelling.

Do Projects require the task boards module?

No. Projects requires nothing. Boards, Time and Customers each add a panel to a project when they are installed, and cost that panel when they are not, but the smallest useful installation of Projects is a list of what the organisation is working on and who owns each one.

Can hours be booked against a project?

Yes, when the Time module is installed. Each project carries a switch for whether it appears in Time at all, and switching it off stops it accepting new hours without losing any hour already booked.
