The Enclessa Companion is a module where somebody asks for something in their own words and gets either a fact read out of their own organisation or a change they are about to make to it. It finds only what the person asking is already allowed to see, it proposes rather than acts, every change it does apply can be taken back, and each tool it has carries a setting: off, propose and wait, or apply without asking.

What can it actually do?

Find, and propose. It searches anything in the organisation the person asking is already permitted to see — which is the whole of its access model, so a question cannot become a way around a permission. Where a module lets it write, it drafts the change and waits: creating a board, or planning a brief into items, arrives as a proposal with an approve step in front of it.

How much autonomy does it get?

As much as the organisation gives it, per tool rather than in one switch: off, propose and wait, or apply without asking. The middle setting is the default and the one the module was designed around — the point of the thing is that a person commits the change, and a conversation is treated as a working note rather than as a record.

What this does not do

The Companion is off until an operator enables the module for the organisation.
It cannot read what you cannot. It has no privileged view of the organisation and no access to end-to-end encrypted rooms, which the server cannot read either.
It was verified against a database and a scripted model rather than in a browser, and the module is new.

Companion: common questions

Does Enclessa have an AI assistant?

Enclessa has an optional Companion module: you ask in your own words and it answers with a fact from your own organisation or proposes a change you approve. It sees only what you are already allowed to see, and every change it applies can be taken back.

Can the Companion read encrypted messages?

No. Direct messages and group direct messages are end-to-end encrypted and the server holds no key for them, so there is nothing for the Companion to read. It sees what you see, and no more.

Will it change things without asking?

Only where an organisation has set a particular tool to do so. Each tool is off, propose-and-wait, or apply-without-asking, and propose-and-wait is the default.
